Celebrate Women Award

Yeah The Girls Judge Anthea Elliot

Anthea has been appointed an official judge for the Trusted Mentor and Coach category at the Celebrate Women Awards 2026, Sydney's red-carpet gala recognising women in business, community and leadership. It's a category she was chosen for because she does the work herself: as a Trauma Recovery Coach and counsellor, she's spent years helping women move from surviving to living. Judging it means holding the standard for what genuine mentorship looks like.

Anthea shares her own journey through domestic and sexual violence, homelessness, and the pattern of abuse that followed her into adulthood, and how she found her way to a life she's proud of.

This talk leaves audiences with a real, practical understanding of what it takes to stop surviving and start living, naming the beliefs that hold you back, building boundaries that hold, and turning insight into real action.

Anthea Elliot's was very encouraging. She spoke about the choice we all have to move beyond the moments and tap into the version of ourselves that can achieve the impossible.

I was feeling a bit defeated from a long, challenging day, and this talk really lifted my spirits. I especially liked the use of minions in her examples as that provided a good picture to drive her message forward.

This talk helped me to realize the power I have inside.

Watch Anthea in Action

Anthea's talk was deeply moving and incredibly empowering. She created a safe and authentic space that made me reflect on the stories I tell myself and the choices I make every day.

What I felt most strongly was hope, courage, and self-belief. Her message about "the right to choose" really stayed with me, especially the idea that we can hand ourselves a new story instead of staying trapped in old limitations.

The "minions and filing cabinets" analogy was powerful and memorable. It made complex emotional patterns feel simple to understand and relatable. I left feeling inspired to choose kindness toward myself, take action, and step more fully into who I want to become.

Anthea speaks with genuine heart, authenticity, and passion. Her message encourages real self-reflection while also giving practical emotional insight. I walked away feeling uplifted, motivated, and more connected to my own personal growth journey.

Anthea Elliot delivered a phenomenal speech on overcoming subconscious barriers. The "little minions" and filing cabinets metaphor provides an exceptionally visual look at how people trap themselves in negative self-talk, perfectly illustrating why individuals get stuck in familiar, limiting patterns.

The true power of the message lies in the strategic shift. The concept of confusing those inner minions by handing them a brand-new folder labeled with capability, kindness, and truth serves as an unforgettable takeaway that transforms personal struggle into growth.

By asking, "What do I want to be that I'm not being yet?" this presentation cuts right through hesitation. This speech offers a masterclass on personal sovereignty, reminding listeners that they are the ultimate authors of their own stories and providing a tangible path to become truly unstoppable.

Growing up, I heard I wasn't good enough so many times that I believed it myself. I was afraid to take up space, to speak up, to just show up as myself. I survived domestic and sexual violence as a child, ran away as a teenager, lived on the street on and off for two years, and walked straight into the same pattern in my adult relationships to have somewhere to belong.

I didn't just survive that. I built a life I'm proud of on the other side of it, as a Trauma Recovery Coach, counsellor, author, and speaker.

When I take the stage, I'm not reading from a script written by someone who studied this from the outside. I've lived it, and I've found my way through it, which is exactly why audiences don't just hear this talk. They feel it.
